Ekiga

Chatting through Internet is a popular activity and it's performed by more and more computer users. The problem is that most chat programs available on the market are really difficult to use and include too many useless features. A chatting software which offers just the right features for the average user is Ekiga. This Windows application allows you to communicate through instant messages with any other user of the application in a much easier manner than using similar programs.

After installing the application, the user will be taken through a step by step wizard, in which he will be able to configure the program's functionality. In order to use the program, he will also need to create an account, by entering a username and password. Optionally, he can sign for a Voice IP service, but this is not free. After the wizard is complete, one will see the actual interface of Ekiga and will be able to exchange messages with anyone, just by right clicking on the desired username.

Ekiga includes an address book, in which the user can add complete information about all his chat buddies. What's more, several Ekiga accounts can be added in the same interface. By accessing the options area of the program, one will be able to configure its functionality and also set up a webcam, so that he can communicate not just by using text, but also video.
